What do translations cost? |
|
Prices I charge NOK 500 (exclusive VAT) per hour for other language services. For larger projects and agencies, discounts can be negotiated.
Worth knowing about costing your translation: A standard page is 1800 characters (including spaces) - equaling about 285 Norwegian words or 300 English words per page. Note that most Norwegian texts grow by about 15% when translated into English. Most English texts “shrink” by about 15% when translated into Norwegian. Most translators calculate the price based on the “target language” - the language you translate a text into. For work that is not straightforward translation (such as translating powerpoint presentations) translators normally charge a little more. I do not charge extra for certified translations. VAT (25%) is chargeable on translation and language editing services, and comes in addition to the cost of the translation itself. Express delivery can be agreed (surcharge minimum 25%).
